River and Soul Adventures; The Story.
River and Soul Adventures was founded by Janey and Callum who's aim was to create the best adventure tours that highlighted Nepal's true beauty and soul. Getting off the beaten track, meeting locals, having a wild adventure but being comfortable while you do it is important to both Janey and Callum. Having travelled, worked and lived all over the world they know how important home comforts can be, but yet, on most adventure tours comfort wasn't included.
With a passion for Nepal, adventure, culture and comfort River and Soul Adventures was born. Using their connections in Nepal things quickly got going for the pair and with tours offering everything from touring, primo white water rafting and relaxing cultural homestays all tours are different and there is one for all levels of adventurers, young to old.
River and Soul Adventures has gone from a campfire dream to a passionate reality. Being able to work in a country that constantly surprises us, reignites passion and inspires us is brilliant, but what is better is being able to show others the Nepal we fell in love with!
"Nepal has some of the most exciting whitewater, extraordinary culture, and unbelievable mountains that are to be found anywhere on Earth. You just have to get off the beaten track to find it. That's why we chose Nepal as our destination. It is the perfect place to combine our love for adventure and our love for foreign culture.
"We have worked and lived in the adventure travel industry all over the world. Japan, New Zealand, USA, Uganda, South Africa and Mayanmar are just some the countries on our list. But Nepal always held a special place in our hearts.
"In the past we've worked in Nepal as a River Guide or for charities. This is allowed us to have doezens of contacts friends and extended family throughout the country. This allows River and Soul to provide the best rafting and most vibrent cultural experiences that Nepal has to offer."

River and Soul Guides & Founders
Hi everyone, I'm Janey. A worldwide adventurer, I've travelled to over 30 countries and counting! Nepal was my first solo trip which sparked the flame for my worldwide adventures! During my time travelling I've been a mountain bike guide, worked for a Kayaking company in Milford Sound and volunteered my time to different projects all over the world. A keen mountain climber, scuba diver and kayaker you'll always find me planning new adventures while also balancing local charity work. Click on the button below to find out more about me!
Hi everyone, I'm Callum. I first came to Nepal to conduct research for my University dissertation and to help run a charity project with Rotary International. Over the years I've guided a variety of adventure sports all round the world, but I've always been drawn back to Nepal. The mountains and rivers here are something else and I always eagerly anticipate my next visit. I have always kept up my roots with the charity work too. The Nepal project has expanded way beyond any of us had dared to dream. I'm so proud of the team and what we have achieved. Whilst the people make up the soul of the country, the Monkeys of Nepal certainly do their best to leave an impression! Seeing monkeys roam the streets, temples and wilds for many of us is exciting! It can also be quite intimidating to interact with them up close. They all have their own personalities, attitudes…
Time to put the computers down and turn our phones off, this weekend we spent it camping in the beautiful, Yorkshire Dales with Callum’s family. Packing up our bags and tent it took around 4 hours on the train from Glasgow to the small hamlet of Dent. This beautiful little hamlet is nestled into the…
Another day out of the office and into the Scottish highlands! Janey and I have tried to get up Ben Lomand twice before. The first time I was recovering after a recent operation on my shoulder and didn’t have enough time to get up so we turned down early. The second time we tried it…
Rhinos have to be one of Nepal’s most spectacular animals. Throughout Asia there are 3 species of Rhino, but only 1 of species lives in the Nepal. The Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros. Nepal is home to 645 of these rhinos as of April 2018. Thanks to Nepal’s zero tolerance of poaching this species is no longer…
