Meet Your Guides

Callum Morrison

Hi everyone, my name is Callum and I like to think of myself as an Adventurer Extraordinaire! I grew up in Harrogate, a lovely town in North Yorkshire. But I soon got the travel bug and hit the road.

I've travelled all across the world through Aisa, Africa, Europe and North America. My love for paddle sports has allowed me to work in many of the countries I’ve visited! I’ve gained certifications working as a Sea kayak Guide, Whitewater Rafting and Kayak Guide, Safety Kayaker, and as a Canoe and Kayak Instructor. I’ve furthered these with Wilderness First Aid and FREC Level 3 (First Responder Emergency Care) and becoming a Whitewater Rescue Technician.

I first came to Nepal for my university thesis paper about the whitewater rafting industry and to work on Rotary International Project. That was some some years ago and since then I've continues to work as a member of Rotary and increase my knowledge of the rivers in Nepal.

I Co-Founded River and Soul so that I can share my passion for whitewater and the amazing places I've found with everyone else! When you’re on an adventure with me, you know you will have a great time!

Want to know more? Here’s 5 things you may (or may not) want to know about me!

1) Out of all the food out there, my favourite meal has to be bangers, mash, and baked beans. Give me 3 or 4 sausages and loads of baked bean sauce!

2) This is pretty obvious, my favourite colour has to be ginger! I’m often drescribed by friends as "Ginger and Smily".

3) My favourite country is of course, Nepal. But my favourite place is Milford Sound, New Zealand. I spent two seasons working in that beautiful place as a sea kayak guide and can’t wait to go back one day!

4) This is a tricky one, but I would have to say my most loved band is Fat Freddy’s Drop. They’re a band from New Zealand and have a chill, techno, reggie vibe that I can’t help but get up and dance to!

5) Fun fact! I actually used to run a secret underground bar out of my University house’s basement – ask me about it one time!

I'm River and Soul's travel extraordinaire! With over 30 countries under my belt, a history of working in the outdoor, adventure and luxury travel industry I know how to make travelling awesome and a unique experience. As Co-Founder and Head Guide with River and Soul Adventures I know how to make your trip an unforgettable experience.

I've worked and travelled all over the world and have undergone my Mountain Leader Training Qualification, Trained as a First Responder and a PADI Certified Rescue Diver. So I like to think you're safe in my hands!

From Mountain Bike guiding & organising kayaking expeditions in New Zealand to planning luxury adventure holidays around the world, I've got seven years experience in the travel industry!

With all my experience, passion and enthusiasm I like to think that your tour of Nepal will be a trip of a lifetime and one in which, you'll never forget!

Want to know more? Here’s 5 things you may (or may not) want to know about me!

1) I have a small obsession with Peanut butter. It's my travel essential and pretty much, my favorite food.

2) My number one bucketlist experience is to go trekking in search of snow leopards.

3) Pakistan was the first country where I experienced Altitude Sickness whilst hiking.

4) My favorite band right now is Lights. They are Canadian and she is a bad-ass, seriously, listen to them!

5) I will try any activity once, even if it scares me. Like bungee jumping..

Nepal is a country that keeps drawing me back. It was the first country I traveled to on my own and it's a country we do a lot of work in with Rotary International. Every time I go back to Nepal the happiness, generosity, adventure and wilderness ignites my passion for the country and the people. Always returning home with new friends and hundreds more photos!
